What should you record when you walk the house?

Panes by floor and type, screens, sliders, skylights and anything stained or painted. A voice note covers it while you walk: “Front: 8 panes ground floor, 6 upstairs, two French doors, hard water on the back slider.” Photos of the stained glass and the highest windows explain the price later.

Note access too: ladders on a slope, a locked gate, a dog, furniture in the bay window. Those turn a one-hour job into two.

How do you turn the count into a price?

Multiply the panes by your inside-and-out or outside-only rate, add screens and tracks, then check the total against your minimum. The pricing guide shows what other companies charge per pane and per window; the calculator does the arithmetic with your own costs and margin.

If a customer asks for a lower price, offer outside only or skip the screens, not the same work for less.

What should your follow-up text say?

Name the house, the work and a date: “Hi Pat, following up on your window quote: 28 panes inside and out with screens, $266. I have Tuesday afternoon open. Want it?” One clear choice gets an answer.

After the visit, send the invoice with a short note on anything you could not reach or clean, and ask whether they want the same visit next season.
