Your agreement and account
By creating an account or using Make This Useful, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. Every person invited to an account must also be at least 18. If you use the service for a business or another organization, you confirm that you have authority to agree for it. Keep your sign-in secure and give us complete, current account information.
Free sampler
A newly verified account may receive one free sampler with 40 units of use. It expires 14 days after verification, has no cash value, and is limited to one per person. Deleting an account does not create a new sampler or restore expired or used capacity. We may withhold or remove a sampler obtained through duplicate accounts, false information, automation, or abuse.
Using the service
You must have the right to submit the material you use. Do not use the service to break the law, harm or deceive people, evade access or safety controls, distribute malware, probe another account, overload the service, or process material you do not have the right to use.
Results and your responsibility
Make This Useful turns questions and source material into work you can review. Results are generated with automated systems and can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Check important facts, dates, amounts, instructions, calculations, and source material before you rely on, publish, or send a result.
Do not use a result as your only source for a decision that could materially affect a person’s rights, health, safety, employment, credit, housing, education, finances, or legal position. The service is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, engineer, or other licensed professional. Get qualified help when the situation calls for it.
Business use and account sharing
You may use reviewed results in your own work or business. You remain responsible for what you promise, quote, publish, sell, submit, or tell a customer. You may not resell access to the service, run it as a service bureau, share sign-in credentials, or let more people use an account than its plan allows.
The account owner may invite people up to the plan limit. Each person must use a separate sign-in. Invited people can see, change, download, and delete all work and files in that account. Only the owner can manage people, billing, a full account export, or account deletion. Invite only people you trust.
Plans and units
Launch plans are monthly: Essential is $15 for 1,000 units, Plus is $25 for 3,000 units, and Max is $45 for 6,000 units. Extra use is a $10 top-up for an active monthly plan and adds 1,000 units. Unused Extra use does not expire while the account remains active. Units measure included service capacity, not stored money. Plans differ by included capacity and people, not by ordinary tools or answer quality.
Billing and cancellation
Our payment provider handles checkout and billing controls. A subscription renews each month until you cancel it. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. A failed payment may enter a short grace period. Your saved work stays available while new processing may be limited until payment is resolved.
Prices and taxes shown at checkout control the purchase. We will give notice before a subscription price change takes effect when required by law.
Refunds, disputes, and restricted access
A first subscription payment is eligible for a full refund within seven days when no more than 20% of that period’s capacity was used. An accidental renewal is eligible within 72 hours when none of the renewed capacity was used. Extra use is eligible within 14 days only when none was used. These rules do not limit rights that local law gives you.
An open payment dispute does not grant more capacity and may place the account in read-only mode while it is reviewed. We may also suspend new processing for misuse, a security threat, a legal requirement, or a serious risk to the service. When reasonable and legally allowed, saved work remains readable and exportable during a restriction. Refunds, disputes, and restrictions do not silently delete your work.
Files and service limits
Supported paid files are generally limited to 25 MB and 200 pages. Unsafe, executable, macro-enabled, encrypted, damaged, or unsupported material may be rejected. We may limit concurrent or unusually costly processing to protect reliability and purchased capacity.
Your content and results
You keep your rights in material you submit. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, transmit to service providers, and produce results for you. You can export or delete material using the product controls described in the Privacy Notice.
To the extent the law allows, you own the results created for you. Automated systems can give similar results to different people, and we do not promise that a result is unique, accurate, or free of someone else’s rights. You are responsible for reviewing a result before commercial or public use.
Outside service providers
Make This Useful relies on outside infrastructure, model, email, file-processing, search, and payment providers. Their availability can affect the service, and the providers may change. The Privacy Notice explains what they receive and why.
Availability and changes
We work to preserve accepted requests and customer data through interruptions, but the service may be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, security events, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Features may change as the product improves. Material changes to these terms will be presented through the service or account email before they take effect when required.
No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service and its results are provided as is and as available. We do not promise that they will always be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, fit for a particular purpose, or non-infringing. This does not limit any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Make This Useful and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from the service.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims related to the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid for the service during the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability that cannot legally be limited.
Rights the law gives you
Nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights, privacy rights, or other protections that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply.
