Privacy notice

Your work is private by default.

Effective September 1, 2026. This notice explains the launch product in plain language.

What we collect

Account details, the requests and files you choose to send after authentication, resulting work, billing state, security events, and limited product measurements needed to operate the service.

Public pages

Public pages are read-only. They do not capture drafts, request microphone or camera access, accept uploads, or send material for generation. Sign-up and sign-in are the only entry to working controls.

Product measurements

We use a small first-party measurement system to understand which public page brought a visit, whether someone reached account creation, completed a first request, used or saved a result, and started or completed checkout. Events may include a page category, campaign label, device class, coarse speed rating, and button or product action. They never include request text, transcripts, file contents, result text, full referrer addresses, or free-form job titles. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control stop optional browser events. Anonymous events are removed after 90 days. Events linked to an account are kept for up to 13 months and are deleted with the account.

How work is processed

Azure stores account data, private work, and files. Cloudflare serves the website and forwards signed-in requests. OpenRouter sends only the material needed for an answer to the selected AI service. Private file, photo, and voice routes require services marked for zero data retention and no provider data collection. Model names and routes are chosen on the private backend. Request text is kept out of routine logs and product measurements.

Files and photos

Files use a short-lived upload link that works only for the selected file and private storage location. Photos are resized and stripped of removable metadata before upload. Text read from a file stays with the same account.

Voice

Push-to-talk sends the recording for transcription and gives you an editable transcript before it can be used in a request. Temporary audio is deleted after transcription by default unless you explicitly keep a supported source copy.

Web checks and receipts

A live web lookup happens only when you turn on Check the web. Search and page services may handle the search words and public pages under their own terms. When a file or live web source materially contributes, the result includes a collapsed receipt that names what was used.

Remembered details

You can review, change, or remove remembered details from Account. Remembered details are not a hidden public profile and are not used outside your private work context.

Billing

Stripe handles checkout, payment methods, invoices, and billing changes. Make This Useful stores your plan, purchases, and available use. It does not store full payment card numbers.

Email

Resend delivers sign-in codes, invitations, receipts, and service messages. It receives the email address and message details needed for that delivery.

Sharing

Work stays private unless you make a share link or invite someone to the account. Every invited person uses a separate sign-in and can see, change, download, and delete all work and files in that account. The account owner manages people, billing, full export, and account deletion. You can remove a person or revoke a share link. Public search pages never include this private work.

Export and deletion

You can request an account export and permanently delete individual files, work, Projects, remembered details, or the full account. Access ends at once while stored and derived copies are removed in the background.

Your choices

Account controls let you download data, remove remembered details, revoke sessions and shares, manage files, and request deletion. You can also contact help@makethisuseful.com.
