Window cleaning invoice template with a filled example
A window cleaning invoice should match the panes, screens and extras the customer accepted, name the service date and address, and show the balance due. Bill anything added on the day, like a skylight or hard-water treatment, as its own approved line. This example bills 28 panes inside and out and 14 screens.

Total before tax: $266. No deposit. Payment due when the windows are done. Late fees: none.

What goes on a window cleaning invoice?
The visit date, the address, the panes or windows cleaned by type, screens and tracks, and any extra the customer approved on site, each on its own line. If the count changed on the day, bill the count you cleaned, not the one you quoted.
Add a note for anything you could not clean: a painted-shut sash, a window behind furniture the customer asked you to leave. It heads off the call about the one window that still looks dirty.
How should you write payment and late-fee terms?
Ask for payment the day of the visit and list how you take it. If you charge a late fee, put the amount and the date it starts on the first invoice, for example “A $15 late fee applies to balances unpaid 14 days after this invoice.” A fee that first appears on a reminder reads as a surprise.
Keep the wording the same as the estimate’s. A customer comparing the two should see the same panes, the same screens and the same terms.
How do you invoice a repeat window customer?
One invoice per visit, with the date and the same counted list each time, so any change stands out. If the customer books spring and fall, say which visit this is and what the next one includes.
Show first-visit discounts as their own line under the work, so the full price stays visible for the next booking.
Frequently asked questions
Should I bill a window I could not clean?
No. Bill the count you cleaned and note the one you skipped and why.
How do I show a first-time discount?
As its own line under the work. Squeegee Pros in Charlotte takes $50 off a first clean, and Dex-terity in Myrtle Beach $20 off a first job of $100 or more.
Do I add sales tax?
Where your state taxes cleaning services, add it as its own line after the subtotal. Husser and A Perfect View publish their prices before tax.
