What should a carpet cleaning estimate list?
Each room or area with its size limit, the hallway, the stairs by flight or step, and each treatment on its own line. Writing “rooms up to 200 sq ft” on the estimate settles the living-room question before you arrive.
Note the method too: hot-water extraction or low-moisture, and roughly how long the carpet takes to dry.
What should be included and what should be extra?
Say what moves and what does not: light furniture moved and put back, beds and electronics left in place. Pre-treatment of traffic areas is usually included; pet urine treatment, protector and stubborn stains are their own lines.
Put the stain rule in plain words: “We treat every spot; some stains, like dye and bleach, do not come out, and we will tell you which before we start.”
What terms belong on a carpet cleaning quote?
How long the price holds, the minimum, and payment on completion. Ask that pets and children stay off wet carpet and that the rooms are vacuumed or clear of small items, or say if you vacuum first.
If you charge for parking, travel beyond your area or weekend work, put it on the estimate, not on the invoice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I quote from the customer’s room count?
Yes, with your room size written on the estimate and a line saying oversized rooms count as two. Confirm when you arrive.
Should the estimate promise stain removal?
Promise treatment, not results. Some stains do not come out; say which kinds before you start.
How do I price a whole house?
As a package by square feet or room count, with stairs and hallways named. It is easier to accept than a long list of rooms.
