Deep cleaning price: how much to charge for a first deep clean
Charge about two thirds more than your standard clean of the same home. Across 7 companies that publish both, a deep clean of a 3 bed / 2 bath home costs a median 68% more, and the median deep-clean price is $375. HomeGuide’s April 2024 band is $0.11–$0.30 per square foot.

How much more is a deep clean than a regular clean?
Most companies land between 50% and 80% more for the same home. Simply Spotless DFW goes from $225 to $395 for a 3/2, LemonMaid in Columbus from $250 to $420, and Green Hands in Queens from $205 to $345. DS Cleaning in Sarasota adds the least, 50%, and Lisa’s Natural Home Cleaning in Atlanta the most, because its regular price applies only after the first deep clean.
The premium buys time. A deep clean priced 68% above your standard clean is selling that much more cleaner time, so time your first few deep cleans before you fix the number.
What does a deep clean include that a regular clean skips?
Baseboards, blinds, fans, vents, grout and door frames, and at many companies the inside of the oven and fridge. Green Hands includes the oven and fridge, grout, baseboards and vents; Simply Spotless adds inside cabinets and appliance interiors; DM House Cleaning in New Jersey includes baseboards but not appliance or cabinet interiors.
Put the checklist on the quote and name the interiors either way. A customer who expected the oven and did not get it will not book the second visit.
When should a new customer get a deep clean first?
On the first visit, and after any long gap. Robins Nest in Connecticut starts every new client with a Home Reset, Lucy’s in Atlanta prices a first clean or one after six weeks as a deep clean, and Blue Cleaning White in Sarasota requires a deep clean for homes not cleaned in 60 days.
Say on the quote that the regular price starts with the second visit. It sets the expectation that the first visit costs more and explains why.
Should you charge a deep clean by the hour?
For a home you have not seen, hourly with an estimate is safer. Hello Clean & Company in Denver bills deep cleans at $60 per cleaner-hour with no minimum, and Spotless Home Cleaners in Chicago lists $69 for standard and deep work and $119 for a premium deep clean.
Give the estimate as a range of cleaner-hours and a price range, and agree what happens if the job runs over. For a home you have walked through, a flat price is easier to accept.
Three worked prices
The first price is a published 3/2 deep-clean price, the second multiplies floor area by a rate inside HomeGuide’s band, and the third multiplies cleaner-hours by a published hourly rate.
A 3 bed / 2 bath on a published price list. LemonMaid Cleaning’s 3/2 deep-clean price, from $420.

A 2,000 sq ft home priced by area. 2,000 sq ft at $0.20 per sq ft, inside HomeGuide’s $0.11–$0.30 deep-clean band.
Deep clean: 2,000 square feet × $0.20 = $400.

Two cleaners for three and a half hours. Seven cleaner-hours at Hello Clean & Company’s $60 deep-clean rate.

Frequently asked questions
Is a first-time clean the same as a deep clean?
At most companies here, yes: Lisa’s calls it first-time home cleaning (deep cleaning), Robins Nest a Home Reset, and Lucy’s prices a first clean as a deep clean.
How long can a regular customer go before needing another deep clean?
Lucy’s reprices a home as a deep clean after six weeks without a visit, and Blue Cleaning White after 60 days. Put your own gap on the quote so a customer who skips a month knows what the next visit costs.
Should a deep clean include inside the oven?
Say yes or no on the quote. Green Hands and MagiClean Seattle include the oven and fridge in a deep clean; DM House Cleaning leaves appliance and cabinet interiors out.
