What goes on a detailing invoice?
The date, the location, the vehicle (make, model, color or plate), the package and each add-on, at the quoted prices. Any add-on agreed on site goes on its own line with the price agreed.
Note anything you saw and did not fix, like a chip in the paint or a stain that would not lift, so the customer hears it from you first.
How do you bill a second vehicle or a plan?
One line per vehicle. For a maintenance plan, one invoice per visit with the date and the plan name, so the customer can match each charge to a visit.
Show any multi-vehicle or plan discount as its own line, so the full price stays visible.
How should payment and late fees read?
Ask for payment when the detail is done and list how you take it; a deposit taken at booking shows as a payment received. If you charge a late fee, put the amount and start date on this first invoice.
Add a line with your rebooking interval, such as a maintenance visit in four weeks.
Frequently asked questions
How do I show a deposit?
As a payment received under the total, so the balance due is clear.
Should I itemize the coating warranty?
Put the coating, its years and any maintenance it requires on the invoice; it is the customer’s record of the warranty.
Do I add sales tax?
Where your state taxes detailing, add it as its own line after the subtotal.
