What makes a photo question useful?
Start with the decision, rather than a request to describe everything in the picture. “Would you buy this mower?” needs a different answer from “Why is the floor wet?” Say what happened before the photo, what you have already tried and what you need to decide.
For a repair, show the surrounding area as well as the fault. For a used item, include the worn part and the whole item so its position makes sense. A dark patch can be a stain or a fresh leak; the useful next step is a check that separates those possibilities. Keep the photo with the answer so you can compare what changes after the check.

Before buying: ask the seller to leave the engine cold; check the oil level and color; look underneath for active drips; start it from cold; listen for knocking or surging; test the handle shutoff; confirm the wheels adjust; and inspect the blade only with the engine off and spark-plug lead disconnected.
Questions to ask: How old is it? When were the oil, air filter, and blade last serviced? May I see it cut a small patch of grass?
Worked example: damp cabinet under a sink
Example input: A photo shows a kitchen sink cabinet with a swollen back corner, a pale water mark below the cold-water valve, and a dry paper towel placed underneath. The question is whether this can wait.
The swollen panel suggests the area has been wet more than once. The photo does not show an active stream, but the mark below the valve makes the supply connection one place to check.
Check now: dry the area fully; place separate dry tissues below the valve, supply hose, drain joint, and disposal or basket; run cold water, hot water, and a full sink drain one at a time; then see which tissue becomes wet. Close the local shutoff if water is actively dripping from a supply connection.
Get help right away if the shutoff will not close, water reaches wiring, the cabinet continues getting wet with the faucet off, or the floor below is soft.

Can I ask about something I am buying secondhand?
Yes. Add the seller’s photos, description and the question you want answered. Ask for inspection points and a message to the seller. For example, visible rust may matter less than whether a mower starts cold and shuts off correctly.
What if there is more than one possible cause?
