Gutter cleaning price list template
Homeowners don’t know their gutter footage, so local companies publish a visit price by story. Sparkle Service on Chicago’s North Shore starts single-story homes under 2,000 sq ft at $150, and Richmond Gutter Cleaners in Virginia lists two-story homes at $200–$400, both checked October 2026. Build your sheet the same way: a price per story, what the clean includes, your minimum, and the jobs you only price after seeing the roofline.

| Published service | Price | Scope | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-story gutters | $0.50–$1.50 per linear foot | Basic labor and supplies; measure the gutter runs. | HomeGuide: gutter cleaning cost · Checked |
| Two-story gutters | $0.75–$2 per linear foot | Same basic clean; the taller ladder and extra moves add time. | HomeGuide: gutter cleaning cost · Checked |
HomeGuide’s bands are per linear foot of gutter, labor and supplies included. To see where your per-house prices land, divide each one by the footage of a house you’ve priced at it.
Should a gutter price list show per-foot or per-house prices?
Per house, by story, for the homes you see most. Homeowners can tell you how many floors they have; almost none know their footage. Keep the per-foot math behind each band: at HomeGuide’s top single-story rate of $1.50, a $150 visit covers 100 ft of gutter, so a house-size band needs a ceiling or a note that larger homes are measured.
The trade-off is speed against accuracy. Story prices let a customer book straight from the sheet, which is the point of having one. Per-foot prices are fairer on odd houses but push the customer to measure, and they will measure the house, not the gutters. One middle path is to price by story and house size and print your per-foot rate underneath for anything outside the bands.
What should you keep off the sheet and quote on site?
Anything you can’t price from the driveway. That means three-story homes, where HomeGuide’s band is $1.25–$2.50 a foot; large or complex rooflines, which Richmond Gutter Cleaners lists at $350–$600 and up; guard removal on systems you haven’t seen; and repairs such as re-hanging, resealing seams or clearing underground drains. List them by name with “Quoted on site” so the customer knows you take that work.
How do you word a “From” price so it holds up?
Say what the starting price buys. “From $150” on its own means little; “Single story, up to 2,000 sq ft, all runs cleaned, downspouts flushed, debris hauled away, from $150” tells the customer what they get and what would move it. Sparkle Service publishes its starting prices by home size and height in just this way. Then name what raises the price: height, guards and packed debris.
The usual failure is a “From” price with no scope beside it. The customer anchors on the lowest number, the house turns out to have a second story and a packed valley, and the real quote feels like a bait and switch. A starting price with its conditions written next to it does the explaining before you pull into the driveway.
Frequently asked questions
Should I put gutter cleaning prices on my website?
Yes, as starting prices by story. They answer the first question every caller asks and screen out people shopping only for the lowest number. Keep complex homes and repairs quote-only. The risk is a homeowner reading the single-story price for a split-level, and the scope line beside each price is what protects you there.
Should the gutter price list show a minimum?
Show it as the price of the smallest visit rather than as a fee. “Single story from $150” reads better than “$150 minimum charge” and does the same job. Put detached garages and sheds at that same starting price, so nobody expects a short run behind the house to cost a few dollars a foot.
How often should I update my gutter price list?
Before each spring season, and whenever your costs move: fuel, dump fees, insurance or a new hire. Check the sheet against your recent jobs; if most came in above the printed price once extras were added, the base price is too low. HomeGuide’s per-foot bands, dated November 2025, make a fair outside check.
