Christmas light installation price list template
Installers publish holiday lighting by the linear foot of roofline, with or without the lights. HomeGuide’s US range is $5–$12 a foot, and Abulous Lighting near Atlanta sells mini-light strands at $19 each plus $14 a strand to install and take down, both checked October 2026. Your sheet should show the roofline rate, who owns the lights, takedown and storage terms, trees by the strand, and when bookings close.

How do you show lease and purchase options on a light price sheet?
As two columns, so the customer decides who owns the lights before comparing prices. One column is your lights, installed, taken down and stored by you. The other is their lights hung and taken down, or lights they buy from you once and keep. Name what each includes, and the customer can weigh a yearly price against a one-time purchase plus a smaller yearly one.
What should a Christmas light price list say about takedown and storage?
Say takedown is included, give its window, and build it into the package price. “Takedown after New Year’s, included” stops the question before it starts. If customers store their own lights, as Abulous Lighting’s customers do, print that. If you store them, say whether storage is part of the yearly price or its own line, and that strands are labeled by house.
Put the booking rules here too: a deposit at booking, the last day you take new installs, and what happens if wind takes down a run mid-season. Light customers book early and expect a fast answer. A sheet that already answers the deposit and repair questions saves you the back-and-forth in the weeks when you have the least time for it.
What should you quote on site instead of listing?
Tall peaks and steep roofs, big trees, commercial buildings, and custom designs with outlines, arches or ground stakes. Each one depends on access and power you can only judge at the house. List them by name under “Quoted on site” so customers know you do them, and keep printed prices for the roofline, bushes and small trees you can price from a photo.
Frequently asked questions
Should I put Christmas light prices on my website?
Yes, a per-foot starting price and your package options. People shopping for lights in October want a number before they call, and customers who see the price before they call have already accepted it. Keep design work and big homes quote-only, and show the date bookings close; it sells better than any discount.
Should I take a deposit for Christmas light installs?
Yes. Lights get ordered and install dates are limited, so a booking without a deposit is a slot someone else could have paid for. Take enough to cover any lights you buy for that house, refundable only until you order them, and put the rule on the sheet.
How do I price a returning customer from last year?
Start from last year’s measurements and price, confirm they want the same runs, and raise it if your costs went up. Changes are priced like new work: an added tree or a second-story run is a line of its own. Returning customers are the easiest bookings you’ll get, so send them the new sheet first.
